In Search Of Haydn 2012
Plot Synopsis
Joseph Haydn inspired Mozart and Beethoven, and has casted influence on music across generations. Not only was Haydn one of the greatest composers and musical scholars of his time, he also pushed the limits of many key classical forms such as the symphony, the string quartet, the sonata and the concerto, thus rejuvenated the music scene at the late Baroque era. Known as the "Father of the Symphony" and "Father of the String Quartet", Haydn was an innovator who came up with whimsical chords and passages that surprised his listeners, as well as stately works like the national anthem of Germany. Musicians, conductors and historians retell his story and recreate some of his best pieces in this film, altogether to admire the true greatness of Haydn.
